How to Maximize Your Personal Branding Photoshoot
A First Impression is Made in Milliseconds!
When a visitor lands on your website, before you can even tell them how you can improve their life, they’ve already decided if they can trust you.
As an entrepreneur or small business owner you want to make sure the first impression is a great one! That’s why your brand photos matter so much. They’re the equivalent of your handshake, direct eye contact and first smile online. And, they work for you around the clock.
Strategy Ensures Your Photos Will Work for You.
If you know what you want the audience to feel when they view your photos online, it’ll help with intentional photo choices for the brand shoot.
Your website messaging and photos can bring some wonderful opportunities, by helping you to appear as a credible authority in your niche.
(This happened for me this summer!)…My photos showed a local company that I’m passionate about helping businesses grow, and I had enough variety in my photos to show that I’d be able to help them out with their brand vision.
First, know the ins and outs of your brand.
Why did you start? What do you believe in? Who do you help? This is where the strategy begins to come into play.
YOUR mission, values and personality will influence which images make the shot list.
Plan For Your Content Needs
Think about where you need photos : website hero image, about page photo, social media posts, linked in head shot, email signature, email marketing…
Think beyond your immediate needs too! Consider if you’ll be running any seasonal campaigns, having a future product launch, etc..
Add variety! It’s great if your session can include headshots (formal or lifestyle), your workspace, detail shots, and images with negative space for you to add text.
Different Outfits
Each outfit helps to represent different aspects of your personality—hard working entrepreneur, confident leader, service provider, off-work pilates enthusiast…. Having a variety of outfits helps to extend the use of your photographs.
Check Your Metrics
Once you receive your gallery of brand images, document your current website metrics, and then implement the photos!
After 5-6 months you can begin to track metrics like: bounce rates, time spent on site, contact form submissions, conversions, engagement and click through rates to determine the impact of your investment:).
The time savings alone (from taking cell phone selfies, to searching for photos that send the right message and capture the essence of your brand) is valuable!
Strategic Marketing Asset
Intentional brand photos that truly capture your brand essence will draw the right people to you, and show them they’re in the right place. Your photos will become the foundation of your brand image.
When planned out thoughtfully and implemented consistently, your brand photos will continue to deliver for your business over time.
If you’re ready to show the world who you are and why they should choose you- let’s talk!
