Sharing the Presence of People and Places with Brand + Architectural Photography

Buildings tell a story through their design and craftsmanship. Personal brands do the same—through messaging and visuals.

I love sharing the stories of both with photography that highlights the uniqueness of each. Whether I’m photographing an architectural space or a business owner, my goal is to reveal the essence of what makes them stand out.

Before I photograph a building, I spend time analyzing the light. What direction is it coming from? How does it highlight the structure throughout the day? I need to determine when the light will best showcase the building.

It’s the same when I photograph a person. I need to consider how the light can best flatter their skin tone and features.

Both people and places have presence and identities.

Architects use structure, materials and scale to shape a building’s presence, and I use posing, light and location to help business owners define and share theirs. The environment matters to both—it can influence how a space feels or how a person is perceived.

Details matter too…

A carefully chosen window shape or the thoughtful layout of a room can help define the character of a space. Just as, a client’s tools of the trade, choice of outfits, and even the location of the photoshoot, all contribute to the story they are sharing.

Whether I’m photographing an impressive building or a talented entrepreneur, my goal is the same: to make their presence known in a strategic and relatable way. Because, compelling photography can help people to FEEL something. And then, they’ll be more likely to REMEMBER what they saw.

Keep shining brightly✨
