Capturing the right photos can be very nuanced…as an executive coach, you want to look like yourself, but you need your audience to feel trust and emotional safety when they view your images.

The secret is to capture images that make your potential clients feel like they already know you and can trust you.

Some obvious authority killers:

-over-smiling and big grins

-crossed arms in front of body

-clenched fists

-casual selfies

-over styled glamour shots or too trendy

-clothing that’s bunching, or overly loose

-shiny, clingy, or sheer fabrics

Some visual credibility builders:

-grounded expressions

-soft smile

-making eye contact

-calm, relaxed body language

-tailored clothing

-soft, neutral makeup

-upright posture

Before the photoshoot even takes place, it’s important to consider:

• which location will support the message you’re trying to convey

• which outfits reflect who you are, but also portrays you as a professional

• which poses will demonstrate confidence

• photos that show what you do and how you do it

Remember that you don’t need to “fake confidence”.  You just need photos that reflect the stage you’re at now.

Martina wanted a look that said: trusted partner.  She wanted to portray (warm authority), slightly less formal than a Hero Executive look.
